Cloud 9 designed, deployed, and maintains a wide area network for a customer with over 50 sites in the New York metro area. DSL was used to create a private (not connected to the Internet) network with a hardware VPN for added security. Some key sites connect back to the main office with T1s. This replaced a slower frame relay network, saving thousands of dollars a month. One-time costs to bring a site online were cut in half. Monitoring and reporting tools provide bandwidth utilization information across the network, and notifications when a site's connection is down or congested.
