T1

If being off-line means losing business, then you need T1 service from
Cloud 9. DSL and cable can't compete with T1's reliability, resiliency, or almost universal availability.

Cloud 9's T1 service allows your network to connect to the Internet at speeds up to 1.5Mbps in either direction. The service is split into two parts -- the Internet access from Cloud 9, and the local loop (the T1 itself) from the phone company. Cloud 9 is your single point of contact for ordering, billing, and service. In most cases, Cloud 9 uses Verizon to provide the local loop, and installation takes about 20 business days.

Local loops from MCI are also available, and Cloud 9 can provide totally on-net service if the MCI fiber network is available in your building. In these cases installation time can be as little as 10 business days.

Cloud 9 is well-connected to the Internet, with connectivity to both Internap and Sprint. Each connection is delivered by a different telco, with fiber from each company taking a diverse path into our building. T1s to our customers are also delivered on fiber on at least the Cloud 9 end.

Some features of T1 service that set it apart from DSL are:

Extended reach
T1 service runs at full speed, regardless of your distance from the phone company central office (CO), and is available even to locations where DSL can't be delivered due to a lack of suitable copper facilities. Higher speed DSL services (768Kbps upstream, or 1.5Mbps and faster downstream) are only available to locations within 12000 feet of the CO.

Better redundancy
Some T1 routers have support for automatic failover to another type of connection like DSL or ISDN. This means minimal interruption to your service. Some hardware will even allow load balancing across a T1 and DSL connection for even more available bandwidth.

Fast repair times
T1 services usually can be repaired by the phone company in a matter of hours, even on a holiday or weekend. Some DSL problems can take 24 to 48 business hours to be repaired, with no guarantees. Cloud 9 also keeps spare T1 hardware on hand in case your equipment isn't working properly.

24x7x365 connection monitoring
T1 service from Cloud 9 is checked by our network management system around the clock to ensure both that the circuit is up and that traffic can actually get across the connection. In the event of a failure both you and Cloud 9 are notified instantly via pager with the details, and we begin work to bring your service back online.
